It’s been 3 months and counting since Dunkin’ Donuts 3 outlets have been closed down in Ahmedabad. Breakup Party Eclair Donut / Cookie Cart Wheel Donut and Classic Mutton Burger with coffee were one of my favorite binge on at Dunkin’ Donuts. Though you can get any Doughnuts in Ahmedabad, not all places could fix my taste (blame it on Krispy Kreme and dunkin’ donuts!!). A few days back while browsing on Local Food Fest, I got notification from Courtyard Marriott for Doughnuts and Flavoured Coffee, and I knew they are gonna satiate my cravings after a long long time!!

The event started Sep 27th and will continue till Oct 4th from 07:30 PM till 11:30 PM at Java+. Undoubtedly Java+ serves one of the best (late night) coffee and ambiance which makes your senses calm. A little heavy in the pocket but the crowd and ambiance definitely makes you love the place (like how you love Mocha!). I was lucky enough to get a chance to dig in doughnuts early before the event starts 🙂

Why they picked the combination of Doughnuts and Flavored Coffee?

The ring-shaped cake made of dough and fried in fat is a doughnut. The shortened donut has been around since the late 1800’s, but it wasn’t popularized until the late 20th century, when the successful American doughnut chain Dunkin’ Donuts made it ubiquitous (the hero! JK!).
Doughnuts and Coffee is a common food and drinks pairing in the States and Canada. The pairing is often consumed as a simple breakfast. But nowadays it is consumed anytime in a day because sugar cravings can happen anytime.

1. Tiramisu Eclair:

When a classic French treat meets an Italian dessert, delish ensues. Irresistibly light and decadent! This was one of my favorites. Pair it with Hazelnut Brownie Cappuccino for balanced sweetness and bitterness.

2. Red Velvet Cheesecake Doughnut:

A cheesecake gooey (the cheese glazed) over a fried doughnut and sprinkled with red velvet. Simple Syrup Coffee or Vanilla Ice Chai Latte can be a perfect pair.

3. Oreo Truffle Crumble:

Soft, fluffy, baked chocolate donuts with crushed Oreos, topped with a thick cream icing. This was my second favorite and Hazelnut Brownie Cappuccino or Creamy Vanilla Nutmeg gonna be the best combination.

4. Sea Salt Caramel:

Doughnuts poured over the caramel sauce and sprinkled some flakes a sea salt. Best pair of flavored coffee – Oreo Affogato.

5. Italian Nutella Paa:

Irresistibly light and delicious Italian doughnuts that are fried, coated in granulated sugar, and traditionally stuffed with pastry cream but to add the twist here, Chef Sanjay did spread Nutella over it. Mocha on the Rocks gonna is the great one to gulp down the sweetness of this.

6. Custard with White Flex Berliner:

A Berliner is a traditional German pastry similar to a doughnut with no central hole, made from sweet yeast dough fried in fat or oil, with a marmalade or jam filling and usually icing, powdered sugar or conventional sugar on top. But the Chef got the twist with white flex over it. Best drink – Chocolate Brownie Frappe
